A Journalling Journey

A Journalling Journey

I’ve fought it. I resisted it.

I knew the theory and I’d read the success stories.

Why was my journalling journey different?

This small change created such a huge impact to me and yes it did have a huge ripple effect.

The practice of self care has been huge.

Journaling can be so freeing!  Whether you choose specific writing prompts each week, or write as you feel emotions rise up, or just get some doodles and feelings down on a page, journaling can transition you in to a better place by guiding you to self-discovery and healing.

I met a wonderful woman in October called Kaye – she was shutting down a business and had decided that October was her month of self care.

She’d booked a two week yoga and  juice retreat (that’s where I met her) booked a breast reduction, booked the gym instructor and had her teeth done.

A whole month – how amazing!

It wasn’t so much about the money she was spending on her self care it was her attitude to her self care, she just got it! I loved, and was inspired by the fact that she was making herself the number one priority! She was definitely calmer, less stressed and definitely less anxious.

Journalling = Free Therapy

She described it as therapy, and it reminded me that I had written a blog about Why Journaling is like Free Therapy for Everyone!

Of course,  it can be more of a beautiful experience with a gorgeous journal. But please don’t let this stop you, and please please don’t get stuck down a rabbit hole looking for the perfect journal! A exercise book from WHSmiths will do.

But if you are looking for a beautiful journal then I love this one by Roxie Nafousi

If you try nothing else in 2023 try journalling for your self care!
